Kyla Groeschel (Director of Kyla Groeschel’s School of Highland Dance and Director of Highland Dance for Teton & District Performing Arts):
Kyla Todd Groeschel began dancing at the age of three, studying both Highland Dance and ballet. Upon moving to California, she studied under Norine Harmon and competed for many years, winning numerous awards both nationally and internationally. Prior to her retirement from active competition in 1992, she was recognized as the Best Sacramento Area Dancer for five consecutive years at the Sacramento Valley Highland Games and Festival.
Today, she serves as the chairperson for the Highland dancing competition at this event. Kyla currently teaches and organizes workshops, competitions and performances in Northern California and regularly travels to prestigious competitions throughout the world with her dancers.
Kyla is a Fellow of the Scottish Dance Teacher’s Alliance and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Human Services with an emphasis in Physical Therapy.
